Tesla Powerwall 3 Expansion 13.5kWh Battery Module

The Tesla Powerwall 3 Expansion is a DC-coupled battery module designed to increase the energy storage capacity of an existing Powerwall 3 system. Each expansion unit adds 13.5 kWh of usable energy storage and can be stacked up to three units per Powerwall 3, for a maximum total system capacity of 54 kWh.

The expansion pack uses the inverter and control system of the main Powerwall 3 unit, eliminating the need for an additional inverter and making installation more straightforward. It is compatible with wall-mounted side-by-side or floor-mounted back-to-back configurations, both supported by appropriate wiring harnesses. The system is managed via the Tesla app with a standard 10-year warranty.

Expansion units are hermetically sealed lithium-ion battery systems with integrated thermal management. They are designed for residential energy storage and backup power applications where additional capacity is needed beyond the main Powerwall 3 unit.
