MPPT: Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
MPPT technology carefully monitors the output voltage and current of your solar (PV) panels, ensuring that every ounce of available energy is efficiently extracted and stored from your panels. This advantage is especially evident during partly cloudy skies when light intensity is constantly fluctuating.
Remote monitoring and control
You can conveniently control and monitor the complex functions of your BlueSolar MPPT charger by connecting a Bluetooth dongle and pairing it with your smartphone or other device using the VictronConnect app. If your array is connected to the internet via a GX device, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) offers access to the full functionality of your MPPT, no matter where you are. Both VictronConnect and VRM are provided free of charge. Even in remote installations where there is no internet access, you may be able to monitor your MPPT using the GlobalLink 520.
Load Output
The Load Output Smart feature protects against damage due to battery discharge. You can flexibly set the voltage at which BlueSolar disconnects the load, effectively preventing over-discharging of the batteries. Here’s the brilliant part: BlueSolar tries to reach a full charge every day. In cases where it fails to do so, such as during adverse weather conditions, it gradually increases the disconnect voltage each day until it does. This feature, aptly named BatteryLife, ensures peace of mind and a long battery life.
Battery Life: Intelligent Battery Management
If the solar charge controller is unable to fully charge the battery within a day, it often leads to the battery cycling repeatedly between a partially charged state and an end-of-discharge state. This mode of operation without regular full recharge can quickly degrade the lead-acid battery and cause it to fail within a few weeks or months.
The Battery Life algorithm actively monitors the battery’s state of charge and, if necessary, gradually adjusts the load disconnection level day by day, meaning it disconnects the load earlier until the solar energy received is sufficient to charge the battery to almost 100% capacity. Once this point is reached, the load disconnection level is modulated to ensure a near 100% charge approximately once a week.
