Fronius Smart Meter IP 5kA-3 Intelligent Electricity Meter with LAN and WLAN

The Fronius Smart Meter IP 5kA-3 is a bidirectional, intelligent electricity meter designed to measure all energy flows in photovoltaic systems. It enables visualization, control, and optimization of energy flows in both residential and commercial installations by collecting reliable data that works in combination with Fronius inverters and Fronius Solar.web monitoring software.

This model features LAN and WLAN connectivity in addition to Modbus RTU (RS485), supporting flexible integration into modern energy management systems. The meter handles a maximum current of 3 × 5,000 A across single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase grid configurations. It operates across a nominal voltage range of 100–240 V (or 3 × 208–480 V) with an accuracy class of 1 and meets Class 1 active energy accuracy per EN 62053-21 and Class B per EN 50470-3.

The compact DIN-rail mounted device measures 90 × 53 × 58 mm and weighs 132 g, with IP20 (front frame) and IP30 (terminals) protection. Current transformers with 333 mV secondary output are required for operation and must be ordered separately.
