Solar Panel Prices Rising Rapidly: From Bulk Advantage to Daily Pricing

Solar Panel Prices Rising Rapidly: From Bulk Advantage to Daily Pricing

The European solar energy market is showing a clear trend reversal in the first quarter of 2025: solar panel prices are rising, inventories are shrinking, and daily pricing is making a comeback. For years, the market benefitted from oversupply and falling prices — but that is no longer the case. At Search4solar, a fast-growing B2B marketplace for solar products, we witness these shifts every day, fueled by thousands of requests coming in through our network of sales agents active from Spain to Scandinavia.

Average Price Crosses €0.10 per Wp

The average market price per Watt peak (Wp) now sits at €0.10, significantly higher than just a few months ago. Many distributors are currently quoting prices between €0.11 and €0.12 per Wp, depending on the model and availability. Highly demanded 445 Wp panels are at the upper end of this range. While 500 Wp panels are still available at around €0.10 per Wp, even they are starting to trend upward.

A key indicator: several distributors are either offloading their final stock at higher prices or already implementing price increases. What was possible four weeks ago locking in prices for several weeks is now in many cases limited to daily pricing. This makes delivery certainty and timing increasingly strategic in procurement decisions.

European Market in Q1 2025: Record Growth and Less Oversupply

The increasing demand is also fueled by the continued expansion of PV across Europe. In 2025 has to be installed 70 GW of new solar capacity. Fossil fuel subsidies are disappearing, grid congestion is accelerating the rollout of battery storage, and sustainability is driving rapid transformation in residential and commercial construction.

Meanwhile, there is significantly less oversupply from China than in 2023. The surplus that pushed prices down in late 2022 and throughout 2023 has largely been absorbed or redirected to other markets. As a result, Europe is once again becoming a competitive and strategic focus for both manufacturers and distributors.

Brand-by-Brand Pricing Overview

Canadian Solar

Canadian Solar continues to ship massive volumes globally. Older models are still available at around €0.09 per Wp, but newer models — such as the 620 Wp bifacial modules — are now sold by the container at approximately €0.13 per Wp.

JA Solar

As one of the world’s largest manufacturers, JA Solar’s pricing varies significantly depending on region. In Eastern Europe prices are typically lower than in Western Europe. Availability fluctuates, with pricing ranging between €0.095 and €0.12 per Wp.

Jinko Solar

A dominant player across many countries, Jinko Solar offers standard modules at prices ranging between €0.10 and €0.14 per Wp, depending on specs such as frame color, coating, and capacity. The 550–600 Wp range remains attractively priced for now.

LONGi Solar

LONGi modules average around €0.105 per Wp, with full black versions like the 460 Wp models climbing toward €0.135 per Wp. LONGi is a popular choice for residential and mid-sized projects, particularly in new builds.

Trina Solar

Trina is positioned as a premium brand in many European markets. Their full black modules are nearing €0.14 per Wp, with standard panels starting from €0.11 per Wp, depending on volume and location.

"First Come, Best Price"

The market is clearly heading toward scarcity. Many European distributors report significantly lower stock levels compared to early 2024. Especially for top-selling models, waiting can result in higher prices — or missed opportunities altogether. The "Fear of Missing Out" (FOMO) is back in the solar industry.

At Search4solar, we see the challenge clients face in keeping up with the speed of change: quotes often expire before they’re even signed. We encourage installers, wholesalers, and developers to act early and build strong supplier relationships to lock in both price and delivery guarantees.

A Step Further: Buy Now, Pay Later

To make life even easier for our customers, we’re launching a unique new service: purchasing on account, with no upfront payment required. This gives installers and B2B buyers greater financial flexibility in an increasingly fast-moving market.
