Sigenergy battery buying guide: build the right SigenStor stack.

SigenStor combines storage, power conversion and energy management in one modular system. This guide helps installers and resellers turn a capacity request into a complete, compatible bill of materials before comparing European stock.

Battery modules
5.38 or 8.06 kWh

Gross energy per current Sigen Battery module.

Stack size
1–6 modules

Per controller, subject to the selected system configuration.

Cell chemistry
LiFePO4

Check the exact regional datasheet for every ordered SKU.

Installation
Floor or wall

The final mounting method depends on the stack and accessories.

Sigen Battery 5 kWh or 8 kWh?

The larger module is not automatically the better specification. Choose the smallest repeatable stack that meets usable-energy, power, space and expansion requirements.

What belongs in a SigenStor system?

A product called “Sigenergy battery” may be only one layer of the stack. A working system can also require an Energy Controller or storage controller, base and top components, a gateway for backup operation, metering and the correct communication or power accessories.

Build the bill of materials around the site architecture first: single- or three-phase connection, new-build or retrofit, backup loads, PV string design and any EV charging requirement. Comparing battery-module prices before that step can produce a cheap but incomplete order.

Size energy and power separately

Kilowatt-hours describe how much energy the stack can hold; kilowatts describe how quickly the system can charge or supply loads. Start with measured consumption, PV surplus and the intended operating strategy, then check whether the selected controller and module count can deliver the required power.

For backup projects, define essential loads and expected autonomy rather than sizing from annual consumption. A large energy capacity does not by itself guarantee that high-power loads can start or run during an outage.

Compare like-for-like landed cost

Compare offers using the same scope: battery modules, controller, gateway, mounting kit, cables, commissioning items, delivery and warranty route. Also check the product code and regional version; a similar title is not proof that two offers contain the same hardware.

  • Record every manufacturer part number in the quote.
  • Confirm pallet contents and minimum order quantity.
  • Agree who owns design, commissioning and warranty support.

Sigenergy procurement checklist

Send these details with a sourcing request to get a comparable system quote instead of a loose battery price.

  • Country, grid connection and number of phases
  • Required usable energy and charge/discharge power
  • New PV system or retrofit, including inverter details
  • Backup scope and essential-load power
  • Indoor/outdoor location and mounting constraints
  • Requested quantity, destination and delivery date

Frequently asked questions

What does a Sigenergy home battery cost?+

The relevant price is the total installed-system bill of materials, not only one battery module. Capacity, controller, gateway, accessories, quantity and delivery all change the trade price. Compare offers with identical part numbers and scope.

Can a SigenStor battery be expanded later?+

The platform is modular and the current manufacturer specification allows one to six battery modules per controller. Before expanding, verify the installed generation, controller, firmware, module-mixing rules and warranty conditions.

Is SigenStor suitable for backup power?+

Backup is a system configuration, not a property of a loose battery pack. Specify the gateway, supported controller, protected circuits and required power, and have the final design checked for the local grid rules.
