Introduction
European buyers enter Week 37 with three distinct signals. Module pricing is softening rather than breaking sharply lower: the latest weekly data shows stable polysilicon, weaker wafers and cells, and slightly lower European module prices. Inverters show a mixed demand picture, but the commercial shift toward hybrid and storage products is increasingly visible in manufacturer results. In storage, the strongest signal is not a single hardware-price move but the widening value of flexibility: negative-price hours, volatile spreads and rapidly developing project pipelines are changing BESS economics market by market. For procurement teams, the practical response is disciplined benchmarking across equipment, support, logistics, warranties and route-to-market risk.
1. Solar Modules
Market direction: ↓ Falling
InfoLink’s update covering deliveries and orders from 27 August to 2 September shows the pressure moving down the PV value chain. Polysilicon quotes were broadly stable, but wafer prices were weakening and all three reported n-type cell averages in China declined. Outside China, the average TOPCon module price remained at USD 0.114/W, while InfoLink said European ground-mounted and residential module prices were revised slightly downward during the week.
This does not point to an uncontrolled price fall. Manufacturers were still trying to maintain higher quotations, and the market was seeing limited new-order activity. Yet weaker cells and wafers reduce cost support, while buyers remain cautious. For European EPCs and distributors, that combination supports competitive tendering and short quote-validity checks. Buyers should still separate factory-level benchmarks from delivered European pricing, where origin, freight, warehousing, payment terms and warranty support can materially change the landed offer.
Brand Spotlight — JinkoSolar
JinkoSolar reported 29.64 GW of module shipments in the first half of 2026 and revised its full-year guidance to 60–70 GW as it balances volume against profitability. The company expects 15–17 GW of module shipments in the third quarter. It is also releasing more than 40 GW of Tiger Neo 3.0 capacity upgrades and has retrofitted nearly 30 GW of production lines for base-metal metallisation. For buyers, the relevant signal is a large supplier actively changing product mix and production economics while moderating shipment expectations. That makes exact model, manufacturing site, lead time and warranty route more important than relying on brand-level availability assumptions.

Brand Spotlight — LONGi Solar
LONGi reported that BC module sales reached 19.55 GW in the first half of 2026, up 125% year on year and more than 65% of its module shipments. European module shipments increased by more than 34% year on year, while overseas markets generated more than 65% of module revenue. LONGi also reported a 35.5% certified efficiency record for a crystalline-silicon/perovskite tandem cell. The procurement relevance is twofold: BC technology is moving further into commercial scale, and Europe remains a priority market. EPCs should compare BC and TOPCon options using project-specific yield, dimensions, electrical design, bankability and delivered cost rather than nameplate efficiency alone.
2. Inverters
Market direction: → Stable / unclear
No reliable European inverter price benchmark was published in the evidence window, so a directional price claim would be unsupported. Manufacturer results instead show mixed conventional-inverter performance and a strong shift toward storage-linked products. At the same time, European discussion around cyber resilience and remotely controlled grid equipment reinforces the need to evaluate software governance, update policies, local service and data access alongside conversion efficiency and price.
Brand Spotlight — Ginlong Solis
Ginlong Technologies, which operates the Solis brand, reported first-half revenue of CNY 3.88 billion, up 2.3% year on year. Its storage-inverter revenue more than doubled to CNY 1.64 billion and represented 42.2% of sales, while grid-tied inverter revenue fell 42%. Overseas revenue rose 31.6% and accounted for 60.3% of the total. This is a clear product-mix signal: hybrid and storage capability is becoming more important to the business. European buyers should validate whether the proposed Solis platform, battery compatibility, firmware functions and service coverage match the intended residential, C&I or utility application.
Brand Spotlight — GoodWe
GoodWe reported first-half revenue growth of 53% and a return to profitability. It sold around 540,200 inverters, including 181,700 storage inverters, and said overseas markets represented about 66.5% of inverter sales. Energy-storage battery shipments reached approximately 2.40 GWh. For procurement teams, the key point is GoodWe’s increasingly integrated inverter-and-storage positioning. When comparing offers, buyers should look beyond the inverter price to commissioning requirements, compatible batteries, export limitation, monitoring, grid-code evidence, warranty handling and the availability of qualified local technical support.
3. Batteries & BESS
Market direction: → Stable / unclear
The weekly evidence does not support a single Europe-wide BESS hardware-price direction. It does show that project value and revenue conditions are diverging strongly by market. S&P Global data reported by pv magazine showed more negative-price hours across major European markets and wider intraday spreads, strengthening the case for flexible storage. Separate analysis from Clean Horizon showed July battery revenues rising sharply in Spain, Portugal, France and Poland, while declining in Germany, Belgium, the Baltics and Sweden. Duration, market access and revenue stacking therefore matter at least as much as headline system cost.
Europe’s deployment pipeline also continues to deepen. BW ESS broke ground on a 1 GW/5.7 GWh project in Germany. These large projects are not direct price benchmarks for C&I buyers, but they reinforce the direction of travel: storage is becoming core grid infrastructure. Procurement teams should avoid transferring revenue assumptions from one country to another and should model connection constraints, cycling, degradation, augmentation, optimizer terms and ancillary-service eligibility for the specific market.
Brand Spotlight — Trina Storage
Trina Storage and OX2 expanded their Nordic partnership with a 50 MW/209 MWh project in Sweden. The project is expected to be the first European deployment of Trina Storage’s Elementa 3 and Electra 13.8 integrated solution. During the same week, EDF and Trinasolar announced long-term optimization agreements for two UK battery assets totaling 179.8 MWh. Together, these developments show both equipment deployment and commercial optimization moving forward in Europe. EPCs reviewing Trina Storage should examine the complete delivery scope, controls, commissioning, long-term service, optimizer interfaces and the allocation of performance and availability risk.

Brand Spotlight — Sungrow
Sungrow reported first-half 2026 storage-system shipments of about 25 GWh, around 28% higher year on year. Storage generated half of company revenue, although storage revenue and gross margin declined from the prior year; overseas markets accounted for 73.4% of total revenue. This is a useful reminder that shipment growth does not automatically mean improving supplier economics. Buyers should review bankability and service capacity together with container specification, PCS architecture, fire-safety documentation, warranty security, degradation guarantees and European spare-parts support.
4. Search4Solar Market View
For modules, this week favours fresh benchmarking rather than speculative inventory building. The value chain is showing softening cost support, and European prices moved slightly lower, but delivered offers can differ materially by origin, logistics and contractual terms. Keep quote validity short enough to reflect the market and compare equivalent module classes.
For inverters, the strongest commercial theme is storage integration. Solis and GoodWe both reported much faster growth in storage-related products than in parts of their conventional grid-tied businesses. Buyers should lock down battery compatibility, communications, grid-code certification, update policy, cybersecurity responsibilities and local after-sales service before award.
For BESS, avoid using a generic European revenue assumption. The latest data shows very different outcomes between Spain, Poland, Germany, Belgium and Nordic markets. Bankable procurement requires the hardware offer, route to market, optimizer agreement, grid connection, warranty and financial model to be assessed as one system.
